WEEK NINE
This week at the Institute, students met with Jeff Frost from a.k.a. Green to learn about how to assess what makes a material ‘green,’ they surveyed the site of Skyview School where they are designing an addition and master plan, and they traveled to northern Arizona to visit ancient American Indian sites at Wupatki and Wokoki Pueblos and Grand Canyon National Monument.

Above: Ecosa director Tony Brown and permaculturist Andrew Millison (left and right) discuss with students the factors influencing the Skyview school site-- including water drainage, sun and shade, noise and traffic, existing structures, and the stone labyrinth and juniper grove (center).
